And now a word from my sponsor...
Dear Friends:
I have decided to participate in the “Walk for PKD”, and I need your help to reach my goal! I've created a personal webpage that makes it easy for you to track my progress and help by making a donation or by joining my team and walking with me and my family.
What is PKD? Polycystic Kidney Disease is the most common genetic, life threatening disease affecting 600,000 Americans and over 12.5 million people worldwide. I have lived with the effects of Polycystic Kidney Disease my whole life and was initially diagnosed as a toddler. Currently, there is no known cure for PKD.
Typically, PKD is passed down from one generation to the next (although I am the first in my family), and causes fluid filled cysts to form on kidneys. PKD cysts cause the kidney's to become very large and eventually to shut down, requiring dialysis or a transplant to survive.
By participating in the “Walk for PKD” I am committed to raise funds for the PKD Foundation. The mission of the PKD Foundation is to promote research to find a cure for PKD and improve the care and treatment of those it affects. The PKD Foundation is the only organization in the world dedicated to finding a cure for PKD. PKD is a family disease, so it is important to me and all of my family, that we find new treatments and eventually a cure. The easiest way to help is by making an online donation. It's simple and convenient - it'll only take a minute. If you live in the Utah area and would like to join me and my family on September 18th in Salt Lake City for the walk, you can sign up on my webpage also! I’d love to have the company! Thank you for your generosity. Together we can help find a cure for polycystic kidney disease!
Thanks,
Troy Dougall
