Could you outline why individuals want to split the Jordan School District. Who supports it, who is against it? Why?

Based on what I overheard at the recent White City Community Council meeting, they want to lower their taxes and stick the upcoming costs of a bunch of new schools back on the west side while trying to break the law to do it. White City had a similar fight with Sandy years ago (I don't remember over what) and the courts ruled that you can't exclude an affected class from voting on issues. As it stands right now, King Dolan is trying to do just that and has even gone so far as to try and keep Alta out of the vote to stack the deck in their favor. If you can't get something done legitimately, there's a good chance your proposal is lacking merit. That's why I'm thinking that, regardless of the current misdeeds of our school board, I won't vote for a split.

Sorry about this. Some bad apples are in each basket. What a bunch of dummies.
